This piece, which was exhibited in “Everything is a Lot”, the artist’s 2018 solo show held at the Contemporary Art Centre of Málaga, is from his series of “washed paintings”. In this series, the works are made by eliminating material with pressurised jets of water, which erase and transform the initial image to reveal the backdrop, in this case several pieces of linen cloth joined together. Chaos and structure are poetically combined through this procedure, generating a balanced and largely geometric composition which harks back to images of walls eroded by the weather or posters glued onto walls and half-torn off.
It was acquired by the Fundación María Cristina Masaveu Peterson at the Galería Ehrhardt stand at 2019 ARCO.
