Size: 200 x 60 x 100 cm
As is common in Herminio’s output, this sculpture is made of a combination of elementary geometric shapes verging on minimalism. In this case, they are two cubic shapes joined by one of their corners; the only thing we can see is their edges, which are made of aluminium. Suspended from a barely perceptible steel cable, this piece seems to float in space. Its emptiness, its distance from the ground and the movement conferred by being suspended mid-air contribute to generating an almost magical sense of lightless, dynamism and weightlessness, which are common features of this Asturian artist’s works.
This piece was acquired by the Fundación María Cristina Masaveu Peterson at the Galería Cayón in Madrid in 2019.
