The Asturian Kiko Miyares has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of the Basque Country (2002). It was precisely in Biscay where he began his artistic, exhibition and professional career, participating in various solo and group exhibitions and linked to the mounting of exhibitions at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao between 2002 and 2009.

Initially trained in the field of painting, he began to focus on sculpture in 2004 thanks to a grant from the Bilbao Art Foundation. From then on he continued experimenting with the work of different types of wood, to which he applied polychrome and in which he generated different types of forms, always human and mainly heads, which he subjected to torsions, deformations, alteration of proportions, etc. Since 2012 he has been particularly interested in the analysis of perception, the ability to see and the limits of vision, with which he plays in his representations. To achieve the desired visual effect in his creations he relies on technology, although the realization of each piece is manual, handmade, enhancing through the imperfections of the material or technique the richness of it.
