A veteran travel photographer whose images capture journeys and melancholy, playing with the poetry of silence and solitude, with the passion of friendship and fleeting encounters, but also with certain compositional modes that allude to the eternal. Sonseca usually focuses on written poetry and its translation into photography. He has been Artistic Director of the International Week of Photography in Guadalajara (1985-1987) and Hofmann Photography Prize 1994, among others.
