This photograph, acquired by the María Cristina Masaveu Peterson at the 2013 International Contemporary Art Fair (ARCO) in Madrid, is part of the artistic and documentary projects on rural Mexico in the area of Oaxaca, which Edgardo Aragon has been undertaking for several years. The series was presented in various galleries and later displayed in other areas, such as the exhibition presented by the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport in Tabacalera. Promoción del Arte (Madrid), in 2014.

Combining romantic images with such difficult compositions as that symbolised by his photography, this artist Mexican seeks to reflect the desperate situation of the inhabitants of this troubled area, with metaphors that form a contemporary visual universe provided by Latin American magical realism. His works use also actions, installations and videos to capture the political ups and downs and cultural dislocations using individual narrative that evoke the consequences of a complex past, and constantly striving towards experimentation and reflection.
