Jaume Plensa 61 is an artist’s book signed by the artist and published by ARTIKA with a limited print run of 2,998 copies. It consists in three pieces, the Book of Art, the Book of Studies and a sculpture-case which holds the two volumes. It presents a visual and emotional survey of the artist’s creative process, spanning from the initial idea to its subsequent materialisation and final exhibition.

In the artist’s words, Jaume Plensa 61 is “the portrait of a creative will. It is a great book because even though you see no works, some of them photographed, there is like a trace of them, as if they were the shadows of what is strictly needed to create works. The artist, at least in my case, does not base himself on the finished work but on the process.”
