SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE
SOROLLA IN BLACK
AUDITORIUM MARÍA CRISTINA MASAVEU
26 OCTOBER, 2022
The intense light of the Mediterranean, the scenes full of color, the whites of infinite shades are the features with which the painter Joaquín Sorolla and his vast production are identified. However, black, which can be considered the antithesis of color, darkness itself, is also notoriously present in his palette.
“Sorolla in black” is a scientific journey that will delve into the painting of the Valencian artist, while offering an aesthetic and cultural assessment of blacks in painting between centuries.
