Work acquired at the 2012 International Contemporary Art Fair (ARCO) in Madrid by the María Cristina Masaveu Peterson Foundation, that was previously exhibited in private galleries. It belongs to the series made in the last few years by the Madrid artist using materials found in waste bins, landfills and recycling centres with their well-known digital compositions.
Telephone, computer and electric cables in various colours, thousands of blown bulbs, metres of videotape, old slot machines… are all elements with which Daniel Canogar conceived these installations, of complex technical resolution and powerful aesthetics, exploring the short life of technologies discarded by society and urging reflections on life and death. Reanimating inanimate objects through light, image and contrasts, awakening memories of the past, as a symbolic portrait of an era.
