MUÑOZ, Óscar
(Popayán, Colombia, 1951)
With a multiform vision that alternates photography, printing, drawing, installation, video and sculpture, Oscar Muñoz has established himself as one of the most important Latin American artists of the last thirty years. His interest in analysing processes involving idea and memory has led him to combine traditional techniques, preserving their sources and mechanisms, researching the ephemeral, the poetic, existence and death. In 2006, he received the Award of the XXXIX Salón Nacional de Artistas de Colombia and in 2007 he participated in the Biennale of Venice, representing his country.
