REINA SOFIA MUSIC HIGH SCHOOL
MUSICAL TRAINING PROJECT
The Reina Sofía School of Music was created with the mission to train highly talented musicians. The students who receive this personalised training have the privilege of benefiting from the highest level of education imparted by the finest teachers and leading artists on the international music scene. The Fundación María Cristina Masaveu Peterson plays an active role in the school’s training programme by providing a number of scholarships.
In the field of music, the Foundation’s patronage of the arts is channelled through continuous support for the programmes of the Fundación Albéniz and the prestigious Reina Sofía School of Music.
The Foundation has replaced the “Casa Masaveu” in the historic patronage provided for more than twelve years in the form of annual scholarships to cover enrolment fees.
Since 2009 the Foundation has been awarding three scholarships a year, known as the Reina Sofía School of Music Scholarships, to cover the “musical training” enrolment fees at the prestigious school for students of different types of instruments.
As part of its ongoing patronage of musical talent, the Foundation has consolidated its support for the school by launching a programme to purchase personalised seats in the Sony Auditorium. It also continues to channel its support through the excellent training programmes and concerts organised by the school.
The Foundation’s continuous and highly effective patronage was recognised in 2008 when the Fundación Albéniz and the Reina Sofía School of Music awarded a medal to the president of the Corporación Masaveu and the Foundation, Fernando Masaveu.
