RESTORATION OF SAN JERÓNIMO
CATHEDRAL OF OVIEDO
The Master Plan of Accessibility of the Cathedral of Oviedo is an initiative of the Foundation placed within a framework of previous interventions carried out in 2008 as part of the Agreement which, on the occasion of the Celebration of the Jubilee Holy Year and to commemorate the centenaries of both the Cross of the Angels and the Cross of Victory, was signed by the Foundation and the Archbishopric of Oviedo. It included actions such as the renewal of elements and documentary texts on the architectural and artistic heritage of the cathedral; the adaptation and improvement of the baroque stairs of San Francisco de la Riva, original access to the Holy Chamber; or the works on the virtual reality of the Treasures in the Holy Chamber, which are still exhibited on the digital screen installed on the Ambulatory of the Cathedral, whose aim is the improvement of its accessibility. The Plan also includeds the cultural day for people with functional diversity, with the master class, which took place in the Cathedral, given by the historian Vidal de la Madrid on the Cathedral site.
